General description of the collection: The Donald McIntosh papers include a typescript copy of McIntosh's diary, 1872-1876, covering his service in South Carolina, Dakota Territory, Louisiana, and Montana Territory. During the period covering the Indian Wars, most of his entries describe financial transactions, but a few descriptions of his service are included. This material was copied from papers made available by the Custer Battlefield Monument, Crow Agency, Montana.
